Vision

Leadership and excellence in the fields of education, scientific research and community service; to occupy a prominent position in Jordan, regionally and internationally.

 

Mission

Preparing scientific competencies in various fields of science and knowledge by providing distinguished education, producing innovative scientific research that serves the community and contributes in building knowledge economy through creating an environment that stimulates creativity, freedom of thought and expression, and to respond to the requirements of society and global scientific development.

 

Values

  1. Social and Ethical Commitment: Yarmouk University seeks to achieve the highest levels of social and moral commitment, and to consolidate the values ​​of moderation and equality in line with the beliefs of the noble Islamic religion, the genuine Arab customs and traditions, and the authentic human ideals.
  2. Affiliation: The University aims to achieve the highest levels of true national belonging to its students and employees through strengthening the patriotic spirit and placing the public interest above all personal interests.
  3. The University adopts an international vision in terms of international humanitarian principles and standards, seeks positive interaction with all cultures, and is open to cooperate with all outstanding international universities and research centers.
  4. Comprehensiveness: The University seeks to achieve comprehensiveness in the integration of different forms of knowledge, and expand the range of disciplines and research interests.
  5. Quality: The University is committed to high-level educational standards, always seeking to develop the educational process, scientific research and community service according to the highest levels of qualityز

Rewarding outstanding performance and accountability: The University believes that positive behavior and excellence must be supported by the university's plans to reward the outstanding performance of all its employees. Likewise, the university will activate a system of accountability for employees, especially the academic and administrative leaders.
  7. Transparency and academic freedom: The University encourages openness and interaction with others, and emphasizes its interest in the values ​​of justice, integrity and academic freedom.
  8. Decentralization: The University believes in the necessity of the participation of all university parties in the decision-making process. This is achieved by strengthening decisions at the levels of departments, faculties, administrative units and students. The University supports the trend towards more decentralization in decision-making.
  9. Educated institution: The University believes that tangible progress can only be achieved through the modification of university practices to accommodate the developments of science and modern technology and their applications in the fields of teaching and scientific research.

 

Objectives

  • Complete the development of the university towards the concept of a comprehensive university, in line with the university’s mission and objectives, the needs of the local, regional and global market, and the requirements of sustainable development.
  • Upgrading scientific research at the university towards international standards.
  • Preparing a highly qualified graduate, qualified scientifically and practically, possessing the abilities to produce knowledge, compete in the labor market, and effectively contribute to the development of society.
  • Preparing a university student with a sense of patriotism and belonging to be an active and productive member of society, and possesses effective skills, cognitive sciences, communication skills, written and oral skills, to ensure his/her readiness for the labor market.
  • Achieving excellence in the educational process, raising the level of its outputs to meet the needs of local community, paying attention to the quality of scientific research at the university, and being distinguished by the level of accuracy and transparency in administrative work.
  • Developing the university’s administrative system to achieve its vision through expanding decentralization and delegation, and adopting objective criteria in selecting leadership positions based on competition, transparency and accountability.
  • Strengthening foreign relations with universities and international scientific centers, and exchanging experiences in order to achieve internationalization ​​in the university's development and future vision.
  • Developing and qualifying the Academic and Administrative staff by providing their ongoing education and training requirements; in light of internal and external environment variables, where the human element is the basis for development.
  • Raising the level of sustainable partnership between the university and local community institutions to ensure achieving the mission of community university education.
  • Strengthening the financial position of the university to be able to function in accordance with its strategic plans, and to achieve full financial and administrative independence that allows accomplishing excellence and creativity in its outputs.
